“Who are you and why are you here…”
Who am I?
Welcome to Blue Lotus! I am Amy or some people call me Amba. I am the founder of Blue Lotus. I am also the yoga instructor and the massage therapist and the certified aromatherapist, an apiarist (beekeeper) and an ordained minister. I also like sharing knowledge and teachings that have been passed to me with others.
Why am I here?
I started Blue Lotus because I wanted to create a place where people could come and feel cared for. I wanted to create a house filled with wellness, peace, love, and caring. A place where people could come and find physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through yoga, massage, essential oils, nature, and knowledge.
My thoughts and beliefs on massage and yoga are on those respective pages. They are both very important ways to take care of our bodies and minds. Touch is a very powerful healer that we often take for granted. Mindfulness is also a powerful way to bring peace to the mind and body. These are the blessings of massage and yoga. Both are important components of self-care. For those which chronic pain they can be essential pieces to wellness.
But an important thing to know about me is that I love learning and I believe that knowledge is power. Knowledge empowers us to find ways to heal and care for ourselves. It helps us understand what our bodies need. I also believe in natural healing and more self-care. Taking time for ourselves so we can be whole and take care of others around us. If we are depleted, we can’t help anyone, even ourselves. Through workshops I want to share some of the things I have learned that might help you on your journey.
I also love nature. I believe being in nature is healing in and of itself. Nature grounds us and helps us understand that there is something so much bigger than ourselves. It can help put our lives in perspective. It can help slow down everything around us. In our hectic world this is a blessing nature can bestow on us. I know that nature can actually hold and comfort us if we let it. This is why I am grateful that we have oak trees on the property of Blue Lotus that are 100 plus years old. Trees that are wise and can keep secrets and give solace. Trees that I invite you to visit and commune with before a class or a massage.
On the following pages you will learn more about me and my philosophy about yoga, massage, and essential oils. How I teach and live. I hope you decide to come visit me at Blue Lotus. It is a cozy place that is filled with peaceful, positive energy. A place good for the soul.
